What do I have to do as a Christian? Do I have to tithe? Do I have to read the Bible? Do I have to go on a mission trip or help at the local soup kitchen? Do I have to show Jesus to all I come in contact with? Do I have to know Jesus? Do I have to live Jesus? Do I have to pray, at home, in private, and in worship at the church? Do I have to go to Sunday School and/or Bible Study? Do I have to see the people at church any other day past Sunday?
Well, the phrase “have to” is not exactly found in the Bible. But being a Christian is surely helped when you do tithe, read the Bible, help others near and far, show Jesus, know Jesus, live Jesus, pray, go to Sunday School, and be with other Christians!
I would hope that we would live beyond “have to’s.” Do you want to do all these things? Will you get to know the Lord Almighty any better by being active in these ways? I don’t think any of us have a completely Jesus-like life, yet. Maybe Jesus is trying to tell us something!
