That’s Deep!

Dear Friends,

What would it look like if everyone in the congregation was studying the same book of the Bible?  I believe it will have a good effect on our congregation.   So, we are going to give a try.  Each of our Sunday School teachers have been asked to climb on board with this idea for the next two months.  During worship we will have sermons based on the same book of the Bible that the Sunday School classes are studying.  That’s right; we are going to be looking at one book of the Bible together.

What book of the Bible will we be studying together?  It will be the Letter to the Hebrews.  The sermon series will be called:  “That’s deep! (A journey through the Book of Hebrews)”

The seven week series will have this schedule:

10/7    God is speaking       Hebrews 1:1-4, 2:5-12, Psalm 26

10/14  The Word of God     Hebrews 4:12-16

10/21  We have a High Priest         Hebrews 5:1-10

10/28  For All Time    Hebrews 7:23-28, Psalm 34:1-8

11/4    Worship the Living God      Hebrews 9:11-14

11/11  It is appointed.          Hebrews 9:24-28, Psalm 42

11/18  The Day is Approaching     Hebrew 10:11-25

We will increase our understanding of what God is doing in this world.  We will gain confidence in Jesus Christ.  We will see what obedience meant for Jesus.  We will see what happens when we approach God through Jesus.  We will see how our conscious is purified.  Finally, we will see what it means to be sanctified.

If you are not in a Sunday School class, then how about you help us have a good problem of having overflowing Sunday School classrooms and needing more teachers?  We know that we are all at different levels of faith, and as we study Hebrews together we can find encouragement to go deeper with God and our faith.

 In Christ’s Service,
