Mutual Encouragement

Dear Friends,

Greetings in the Name of the Lord Jesus! I pray that we continue to encourage each other to be the saints we are in Christ. It sure is hard to keep the faith in this world. But because of the Holy Spirit residing in us and our mutual encouragement, we indeed can be saints in this life.

We go about our life checking in with our friends. Some friends we call on the phone about once a month. Some friends we see weekly at church. Other friends we see almost daily. We also could substitute “family” in each of these sentences! Whether it is our friends or our family, we do find mutual encouragement from each other.

We need this mutual encouragement. As we speak with our older friends and family, they let us know how fast life goes for them. Then when we spot our children, we realize how fast life goes for them. For whatever activities of life we are involved, grocery shopping, sport practice, going to the gym, doctors’ visits, or getting the next meal prepared, we realize having family and friends around sure does make life so much better.

I thank God for my family and friends. It is good to catch up with each one. Just our checking in on each other makes life so much better. Whether we are talk on the phone, send text messages to each other, or make plans for visits, it is good to know God is working in each of my family’s and friends’ lives and in my life.

As we are mutually encouraging each other, I sure hope we are able to see Jesus work in each other’s lives. The good that God does for me is the same good that God does for my family and friends. For me to hear and see the perspective of my family and friends encourages me to seek God. There is a calming of the fast paced life when we realize God is working in our own lives and the lives of our friends and family.

Keep on encouraging your family and friends by praising God for what he is doing in your life. Your family and friends will grow in their faith as you praise God.

See you Sunday!
